He/Him, 20, Hacienda Heights CA

Q. What do you think your room says about you?
-I’m not too sure what it would say about me, my room is very muted I think. There are no loud colors going on. I like to think of my room as a studio in a way. I spend a lot of time working on art projects here, hopefully it can resemble something like that.

Q. Do you think your future room will have the same qualities as your room now?

-Possibly, I think I’d keep the same looks if I could, maybe add some more plants to my collection and pin up some more artwork.

Q. In some photographs, I may have asked you what items or pieces of your room meant the most to you. Why did you choose those items? What connection do you have with these objects?

-Ahh yes, I remember talking about my weights that I had in my room. I’m passionate about fitness and exercise. I try to keep up a healthy lifestyle by exercising every day, it's all about patience, discipline, and hard work. I still have a long way to go.

Q. Did you clean your room before it was photographed? I gave no instruction to clean or prepare your room in any way. If you did choose to clean it why? And if you didn't choose to clean it, how come?

-Before the shoot no, but I cleaned my room a week ahead. It was more so laundry that I had to do and put away clothes. I cleaned my room a week in advance because I try to keep it maintained and cleaned, but it could be a struggle sometimes.

Q. Are you home often? (if so why?) Do you spend the most time in your room or elsewhere?(if so why?)

- I’m out of my room most of the time unless I’m working on projects or calling it day and sleeping. I keep myself occupied, I spend most of my time at school, work, and the gym.

Q. Would you say you're proud of your room? Do you feel like it suits you well? (alternate question: Do you feel like it is a good representation of who you are/how you project yourself?)

-I would say I’m proud of my room, I never had my own room until now, so I did spend some time trying to make it my own by putting things that I like in it. I suppose it does suit me for it is my room, however, I would say it's not permanent.

Q. How do you feel about where you are in life right now? Are you content with how everything is going and how you are portrayed?

-I’m somewhat on track of where I want to be, focusing on school and progressing through it. Of course, there’s always room for improvement, so growth as a person is something I keep as a priority. I’m not sure how I would be portrayed as a person, that is something my friends and people around me would know.

Q. Why did you want to be a part of this series?

-I was asked to be a part of it, and I thought maybe it would be cool to do this, try something different, and to support a friend. I've never had a little photo shoot done before, and I wouldn’t think my room would be something to be photographed either.

Q. How do you think you'll react to these photos later on in life?

-I’ll probably look back and smile at them, think of the person I was at the time, and compare myself to who I am to that day. It would be something to reflect off of.
